The Digital Empowerment Foundation (DEF) targets communities across India and South Asia, and develops media and digital solutions for socioeconomic benefit. These range from a series of books on ICT4D (information and communication technologies for development) and digital platforms for rural entrepreneurs to benchmarking awards and community media.
DEF also works on multi-stakeholder partnerships at the international level to assess, award and scale up digital media innovations, eg. via World Summit Awards, WSA-Mobile, Manthan Awards and mBillionth Awards.
